Restore Missing Grades
If students have already submitted an assignment, quiz, or discussion and “Everyone” is removed from the Assign To field, Canvas will hide or remove those students’ grades and submissions from the Gradebook. This data is not deleted and can often be restored by following the steps below.
First, navigate to the "Assignments" page in your Canvas course. Click the "three vertical dots" to the right of the affected assignment, then select "Assign To...."

Next, click the "+ Add" button.

Click inside the "Start typing to search…" field to expand the drop‑down menu, then select "Everyone else."

Finally, update the "Due Date," "Available from," and "Until" fields as needed, and click "Save."

For additional guidance on assigning activities to specific students without removing existing submissions, refer to the Canvas Support guide: "How do I assign an assignment to everyone, individual students, differentiated tags, or sections?"
