System and Equipment Requirements

Before using Honorlock, ensure you have the right equipment and meet the minimum system requirements.

System Requirements

  • A computer with a microphone, external webcam, and the Google Chrome browser.
  • A stable, high-speed internet connection.
  • A quiet and bright location to take your proctored exam.
  • Visit Honorlock's Minimum System Requirements support article for additional information on system compatibility and requirements.

External Webcam Requirements

  • Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) requires students to use an external webcam for all proctored exams.
  • You can use your own external webcam, visit an on-site proctoring room on any campus, or request a webcam from the IT Help Desk via the Student Technology Check-out Request form.
    • Note: Students can only receive one webcam from the IT Help Desk. Broken or lost webcams will not be replaced.

Chromebook Users

  • The Honorlock Chrome extension is compatible with Chromebooks.
  • However, some exams may require the desktop Honorlock Application, which is not compatible with Chromebooks. These exams must be taken on Windows, macOS, or at an on-campus Online Exam Proctoring Location. Check with your professor to confirm your exam's requirements.
