New Users/Resetting Your Password and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) Setup


Whether you're a student, faculty, or staff, MyFSW is where you access most of your FSW account information. All the more reason, it can be frustrating if you find yourself unable to log in to your account. We understand that feeling, so this guide was created to provide you with a streamlined process for resetting your MyFSW password. Get access to what you need when you need it! By following these steps, you will seamlessly update your passwords in MyFSW, Office 365, and Canvas.

Password Reset

1. Navigate to MyFSW Login


To start, go to MyFSW, or you can access MyFSW login by clicking on "MyFSW" on the FSW home page.

2. Click on New User Setup/Forgot Password


Next, click on the New User Setup/Forgot Password link.

3. Complete Form


You will be required to complete a form to confirm your identity to create a new password. Please note that you can provide either your FSW ID number OR the last four digits of your social security number, but you don't have to give both. The rest of the fields are required.

4. Enter New Password


You will then be prompted to choose a new password. Your password needs to be 8 to 12 characters in length, must contain a lower case and upper case letter, and a number. Previously used passwords and passwords that include your name will not be accepted. 

Note: YOUR USERNAME WILL APPEAR ON THE LAST SCREEN. You will need to use that username to be able to log into MyFSW.

Once you have completed this step, you should be able to log into your MyFSW account with your username and the new password.

MFA Quick Setup Process

1. Navigate to your App store and install the Google Authenticator (Rainbow Asterisk Icon)

2. Open the app and select "Get Started"

    2.a. Choose "Continue without an account"

    2.b. Select "Add a code"

    2.c. Select "Scan a QR Code"

3. Navigate to the FSW Portal and log in.

4. After you log in you should be prompted with a QR Code to scan. (If you do not see this code, please contact the Help Desk: helpdesk@fsw.edu).

    4.a. Please note: If the error message "Invalid Authenticator Code" appears during this process, please restart the scanning process: Refresh the webpage and restart the process from the above step (step 4).

5. Use the Google Authenticator to scan the QR Code.

6. Take the One Time Code the app generates and place it into the "One Time Code" text box within the webpage.

7. For Device Name: You may type anything you would like or ignore it. (Unless there is a red asterisk. If there is one, you must enter something)

8. Press "Submit".

Once you have completed this step, you should be able to log into your MyFSW account with your username and the new password, as well as have the Multifactor Authenticator (MFA) established.
