About the Office of Information Technology

Our Mission

The Office of Information Technology mission is to deliver best-of-class technology-based systems and services to the Florida SouthWestern State College community in the most cost-effective manner while providing Florida SouthWestern State College students, faculty and staff with a reliable, secure, and managed technology infrastructure which facilitates the transfer of knowledge and promotes the ethical use of technology.

The Office of Information Technology includes the following areas:

Application Development and Integration

Application Development & Integration serves to provide solutions and support to technical challenges facing Florida SouthWestern State College. We understand that the primary goal of the college is to facilitate student success and for that reason we strive to advance the overall effectiveness of the College by ensuring that we provide technology tools that help, not hinder productivity.

Business Systems (Banner)

The Business Systems area of IT supports the College's mission by implementing and supporting the College ERP and related systems for all academic and administrative units and supporting the needs students, faculty and staff.

eLearning

The mission of the eLearning department is to partner with faculty to create effective, engaging, and innovative online instruction, while providing Canvas support and training to the FSW community.

Information Security

The ISO works with IT and other departments to protect the confidentiality of student, faculty, and staff information. Will also meet or exceed the auditors requirement Information Security. 

Networking and Infrastructure

Supporting college network systems and infrastructure and maintaining as near to 100% reliability for all users, ensuring continuity of network services and providing access to college network resources supporting both the educational and business responsibilities of the college while continuously improving college network systems, services, and infrastructure to enhance the teaching and learning experience at FSW.

Technology User Services

The Technology User Services department will deliver user technology and technology support services that enable learning, support academics and administration of Florida SouthWestern State College.

Web Services

Web Services supports the college mission statement by implementing and maintaining the latest web technologies on the college's website and various web applications. Web Services is committed to utilizing these technologies to accommodate the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
