- Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the expectations and responsibilities of students who borrow loaner technology from Florida SouthWestern State College ("the School"). This policy is designed to ensure the proper use, care, and security of loaner technology devices and to promote responsible digital citizenship.
- Equipment Covered
The loaner technology equipment covered under this AUP includes, but is not limited to:
- Laptops
- Webcams
- Other peripherals or accessories as provided by The Office of Information Technology
- Terms and Conditions
- Students must have a valid Florida SouthWestern State College student identification card or Government issued ID to check out loaner equipment.
- Loaner equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be returned by the specified due date.
- Students are responsible for the proper care and use of the loaner equipment while it is in their possession.
- The School will not provide replacement equipment if the loaner device is damaged, broken, or stolen.
- Student Responsibilities
Students who borrow loaner equipment agree to the following responsibilities:
- Use the equipment for educational purposes only and abide by all Florida SouthWestern State College technology policies and guidelines.
- Protect the loaner equipment from damage, theft, and unauthorized access.
- Do not leave the equipment unattended in public areas or allow unauthorized individuals to access or use the equipment.
- Do not modify, alter, or attempt to repair the loaner equipment.
- Keep the equipment clean and free from stickers, labels, or any other modifications.
- Promptly report any damage, malfunction, or loss of the loaner equipment to the School's designated contact person.
- Return the equipment in the same condition as it was received, with all components and accessories, by the specified due date.
- Consequences for Non-Compliance
Failure to comply with this AUP may result in one or more of the following consequences:
- Suspension or termination of the student's privilege to borrow loaner equipment.
- Disciplinary action, in accordance with the Florida SouthWestern State College Student Code of Conduct.
- Financial responsibility for repair or replacement costs, as determined by the School’s TSP Article - TSP-S057: STUDENT TECHNOLOG... (teamdynamix.com).
- Agreement
The student acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the terms and conditions outlined in this Acceptable Use Policy by obtaining and picking up equipment from any of the School's Office of Information Technology locations. Upon picking up the equipment, this article is provided to you in your email confirmation.
