Purpose Statement

To provide Florida SouthWestern State College (the "College") students with seamless educational pathways to baccalaureate and other degrees not offered by the College.

Guidelines

In accordance with Section 1007.22, Florida Statutes, the College has established formal agreements with accredited education institutions to increase access to higher education. The College and partnership institutions enter into partnership agreements ("Partnership Institutions") to ensure transferability of courses and programs. These partnership agreements are reviewed and updated periodically.  The Office of the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for these agreements. 

Procedures

The following has been established to ensure compliance with Florida guidelines and to avoid unnecessary duplication of programming.

  1. Partnership Institutions must be accredited and must maintain appropriate accreditation status.
  2. Partnership Institutions agree to avoid unnecessary duplication of program and course offerings.
  3. Partnership Institutions may pursue appropriate rental/lease of College facilities in accordance with approved Board policies.
  4. The College's graduates and students are given priority for admissions and enrollment in Partnership Institutions.
  5. Partnership Institutions typically offer enrollment incentives to the College's students and graduates in the form of a tuition discount, a maximum allowance of transfer credit toward the transfer degree, waiver of fees, or other benefits.
  6. Programs with Partnership Institutions provide additional access to students who wish to advance their academic credentials.
  7. Partnership Institutions maintain responsibility for providing adequate learning resources to support instruction.
  8. Partnership Institutions maintain responsibility for counseling and advising of prospective and enrolled students.
  9. Partnership Institutions are given priority for use/rental of classroom space.
  10. Partnership Institutions are provided with recruitment access and use of on-campus space when visiting the campuses.
  11. Partnership Institutions are promoted through online resources, newsletters, mailings, and other appropriate College channels.
