Log into Portal


You can go to the Portal login screen by navigating to https://my.fsw.edu/, or you can access the Portal login by clicking on "Portal" on the FSW home page.

On the next page, (1) Enter your Portal username, (2) Enter your Portal password, (3) Click the "Sign In" button.

Locate Syllabus


To locate a Syllabus, go to my.fsw.edu.

Once you are on the login page, (1) Enter your Portal username, (2) Enter your Portal password, (3) Click the "Sign In" button.

Next, click on the "Document Manager" tab.

Select the "Academic Affairs" folder.

Next, choose the "2022-2023 Syllabi Templates" Folder.

Then, click on the name of your school.

Next, click on the subject area.

Select your course name and click on the "Download Document" button.

Open your Syllabus file.

Fill in the highlighted areas.

Save the file after editing.

Log in to Canvas


  You can log into Canvas by clicking on "Canvas" on the  FSW home page.

On the next page, 1) Enter your Portal username 2) Enter your Portal password 3) Click the "Sign In" button.

Upload Syllabus


Go to www.fsw.edu and click on the "Canvas" link.

On the Canvas Navigation Menu, click on the "Courses" link and navigate to your course.

 In the left menu bar, click the "Files" link.

On the top right, select the " + Folder" button. 

(1) Name the folder "Syllabus."

(2) Then click on the checkmark. 

Click on the "Syllabus" folder to open the folder.

Click the "Upload" button in the top right.

Next, (1) Find your Syllabus File and click it (2) Select the "Open" button in the bottom right.

The file will appear on the page inside the "Syllabus" folder.

Link Syllabus


To link the Syllabus to your course, (1) Go to the "Pages" link in your class (2) Click the " + Page" button on the top right.

On the next window, (1) Type in "Home" as the title of the page (2) In the text box below, type the course title and your name.

Next, click on the "Insert" tab.

 (1) Select the "link" button from the menu.

(2) Select the "Course Links" button.

Then, on the menu that opens on the side select the "Files" option.

Click on your syllabus document.

The green underlined text indicates a link.

Select the "Save and Publish" button after you are finished.

Click the "View All Pages" button on the top left.

Look to the right of the page (1) Select the three dots icon ( 2) Click the "Use as Front Page" button.

Click the "Home" link in the navigation menu on the left.

Look to the sidebar located to the right of the page and click on the "Choose Home Page" button.

A small window with a few options will appear (1)Click on Pages Front Page (Home) (2) Press the Save button.

The Syllabus will appear as a link on the Courses Home Page.

Announcements


You can create an announcement to share important information with all users within your course and with users in sections of a class.

In your notification preferences, you can choose to receive notifications for announcements created by you as well as replies to announcements you've made.

5. Delete
6. Mark Unread, Forward, and Star
